God Is Our Refuge and Strength

As I type my heart is heavy for those who are displaced due to hurricane Gustav. As I prayed Psalm 46 came to mind verses 1-7 in particular.

'God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Selah There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; He lifts His voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah' Psalm 46:1-7

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and yes, forever (Heb. 13:8). My heart is no longer heavy as I focus on the reality that the God of yesterday is still the same God today, therefore, He will keep His promise. He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble... The LORD Almighty is with us... and HE is in control!
Lord have mercy on us. Please allow the hurricane to weaken. May those who are displaced, who's names are not written in the Book of Life, may they come to a saving knowledge of You - the true Living God.

Have a triumphant day in Jesus!

April
